Tariffs Amsterdam-IJmond

As of the 1st January 2014 a new, uniform tariff structure for pilotage tariffs is introduced in the Netherlands.

Tariffs

On December 23, 2016 the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) published the Tariff Decision on Pilotage Tariffs 2017. The ACM has set a generic national tariff change of +1.42%. This adjustment is caused by several factors, amongst others a decreasing number of pilotage voyages. This Tariff Decision can be downloaded from ACM’s website: https://www.acm.nl/nl/publicaties/publicatie/16813/Tariefbesluit-Loodsgeldtarieven-2017/.

Uniform tariff structure

As of the 1st January 2014 a new, uniform tariff structure for pilotage tariffs is introduced in the Netherlands. Pilotage tariffs are established by the ACM (Authority for Consumers & Markets) according to a fixed tariff structure.

An explanation of our new tariff structure is part of this tariff brochure:

Determination of fees

The new structure consists of a fixed starting rate (S tariff) and a variable route tariff (T tariff).

The starting rate (S tariff) is the basic fixed tariff for taking the pilot to and from the ship and for covering the fixed expenses of Loodswezen. This tariff is based on the current draught and is differentiated based on the pilotage point (shifting, pilot station or rendezvous).

The variable route tariff (T tariff) commences from the moment the pilot boards the vessel until the ship is moored alongside the quay: based on the ‘average pilotage time aboard’. Consequently, more consideration is given to the route which is to be covered and the time a pilot spends aboard.

An additional tariff (A tariff) is applicable for special trips. This for example includes special transports, navigation in ice or the use of multiple pilots.
